MANZINI – His Majesty the King has urged the nation to take good lessons from countries with high populations.
Due to the strong buying power, Ingwenyama said highly populated countries have strong and vibrant economies.

He did not mention the names of countries that have high populations with strong economies.
However, countries with high populations are India (1.3 billion), United States (329 million), Indonesia (269 million), Brazil (212.3 million), Nigeria (200 million) and several others.

Speaking during the official opening of the 51st Eswatini International Trade Fair yesterday at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre, the head of State pointed out that a product priced at E0.1 (one cent) could bring a lot of money if it was going to be sold to 700 million people.
“Say your product costs one cent and you are selling it to 700 million people, you are going to get E700 million, and that’s a lot of money nine bekunene (ladies and gentlemen),” said the King.

purposefully

In fact, Ingwenyama made an example of the most populous countries purposefully to illustrate a very important point related to the market availed by the African Continental Free Trade Area where products could be sold to 1.2 billion people.

“Take advantage of this market and sell products to 1.2 billion people. I am aware this is a continental population whereas there are countries that have the same number of people whose economies are very strong and vibrant. These countries with high populations are developing fast,” he said.
He urged businesspeople in the country to work hard, create jobs and make good profits. The head of State looked forward to seeing the Eswatini International Trade Fair developing to a World Trade Centre.

focus
“Let us look beyond exhibition and focus on being a World Trade Centre,” the King said.
He also mentioned that he had instructed Manqoba Khumalo, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade, to extend the number of days for the trade fair as people complained to him about short time allocated for the exhibition.

Usually, the trade fair takes seven days. His Majesty said it was his hope the show would be given an extension of days next year. This was met by a round of applause from 5 000 people who attended the official opening of this year’s trade fair.

Pavilions

His Majesty was impressed with the products on display at the pavilions. He was shown various products ranging from technology to food and livestock farming.
He was also taken to the education centre where institutions like the Southern Africa Nazarene University showed him traditional medicine (imbita) produced at their laboratory, which was good for almost all ailments, and on top of that, this product was hailed for libido enhancement.

Other institutions that showcased their curriculum were the Botho University from Botswana, Global University College and Bradford College University.Public enterprises such as Eswatini Electricity Company, Eswatini National Housing Board, Eswatini Water Services Corporation and many others were present.
The King also toured pavilion for the Embassy of the Republic of China on Taiwan.
