MBABANE- “I am honoured today to present you to the nation of Eswatini and the body of Christ all over the world, Bishop Robert Kasaro.”

These words were said by Archbishop Dr Bahjat Batarseh when he consecrated Kasaro as a bishop during a service which was held at the Jesus Calls Worship Centre yesterday.
The archbishop resides in the United States of America, but is originally from Jordan.

The consecration was attended by scores of people who included Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini, members of the royal family, judges of the High Court, clergymen from different churches and Bishop Stephen Masilela of the Conference of Churches, among others. The service started off at around 11am with the church choir leading the congregants in prayer, while the dignitaries arrived.

At 11:45am, the programme directors, who were Senate President Lindiwe Dlamini and Eswatini MTN Chief acting Executive Officer Sibusiso Nhleko, and pastors at the church, invited the JC Melodies to lead the church in song, while the pastoral procession made its way inside the church.

welcomed with exciteMENT

This was then followed by the arrival of Bishop Kasaro and his wife, Princess Lindiwe, who is the Minister of Home Affairs. Their arrival was welcomed with excited screams from the congregants.
Dr Batarseh then took to the podium, where he delivered a sermon, before the actual consecration. The archbishop cracked a few jokes during his sermon. He said one of the jokes which he always told was about why Jesus was always late.
He said this was because when Jesus was a little boy, he came to Africa.

He also spoke about His Majesty King Mswati III, who he said he respected greatly, prayed for him everyday, and also loved him as a son.
The archbishop also spoke about why he was the right man to do the job, and read a certificate from the International Institute of Church Management from the USA, India, Middle East, Africa and the whole world that he was consecrated as an archbishop for the whole world.

He said he had consecrated a number of bishops all over the world.
He further spoke to Bishop Kasaro, and read a few scriptures to him.
Dr Batarseh also said the day was long overdue. He further said all great success started with small, humble beginnings, and said Bishop Kasaro’s journey was no different.

He said everything that was happening had been planned by God, and was not by chance. The archbishop also said he had told Bishop Kasaro that he should become a bishop.
After his sermon, he also called Kasaro and Princess Lindiwe to the podium where he began the processes of his consecration. These included reading some charges to him, to which Kasaro said he agreed. Dr Batarseh then asked him and Princess Lindiwe to kneel down, before he anointed his head with oil and further prayed for him to be a blessing to the church, and to the whole Kingdom of Eswatini.

Kasaro dressed in garbs

Bishop Kasaro was then dressed in bishop’s garbs, before being officially presented as a bishop to the congregants.
The archbishop also presented Princess Lindiwe with a chain. He said it was with great joy that he presented Bishop Kasaro to the church and to Eswatini, and urged the congregants to give glory to God.
He further asked the congregants to pray for Bishop Kasaro and Princess Lindiwe, and to give them support.
This was met with loud screams of elation from the church. Some pastors from different churches were then called to the podium to take part in the process of a signing ceremony. These included Apostle Justice Dlamini, Apostle Sihlabela, Reverend David Matse, Reverend Tembe and Pastor AM Kunene.
