MANZINI – Kwaluseni Member of Parliament, Sibusiso Mabhanisi Dlamini has been reported to the police for allegedly issuing threats against a security officer.

Information gathered from statements recorded by the security guard, Mlamuli Manana, is that the MP arrived at the Big Tree Complex in Matsapha and allegedly used the wrong parking on Monday at about 2pm.

“I approached him and asked him to park where he was supposed to but he avoided me and parked his vehicle in a wrongful manner. He alighted and went inside Nedbank, where I followed him.

Refused

“I ordered him to go and park his car properly but he refused. That was when I told him that I would clamp his car as per instructions from my employer. Indeed I went and clamped it and this was after I had informed some of my colleagues,” said the officer from Crime Stop Security in his statement.

Manana alleged that when the MP got out of the bank and realised that the car had been clamped, he got inside, sat there and later opened the car window and ordered him to unclamp the car.

He added that he informed the MP that he needed to pay an amount of E100 in order for his car to be unclamped but that he did not listen.
The MP is alleged to have attempted to forcefully drive off in the vehicle, a Nissan sedan, something which did not happen as the clamp got stuck inside the tyre rim.

“He later conversed with two men who were aboard a VW sedan, who alighted from their car carrying a hammer and forcefully removed the padlock from the clamp.

From there he drove off, after issuing a lot of threats and he returned on the following day, on Tuesday and threatened me again, further hurling insults,” the guard alleged.

At the time, according to Manana, there was a police officer who had been standing with another security guard from Fidelity near Nedbank, whom he informed about the situation.
The matter was reported to the nearby Mahhala Police Post, where officers referred the security guard to Matsapha Police Station (Esigodvweni), together with his superiors.
