FATHER KILLS 18-MONTH SON, HIMSELF

MANZINI – A woman of Lushikishini has been left devastated after her ex-boyfriend, whom she has a child with, poisoned their 18-month-old son before committing suicide.

The incident has left the woman’s family members and the community in shock.
The jilted man, aged (23) is said to have first poisoned his one-and-a-half year-old son before ingesting the deadly substance, which instantly ended their lives.
The incident took place on Monday at the man’s parental home at Mdzangwini, Lushikishini in Mankayane under Manzini Region.

An impeccable source said the 23-year-old man’s relationship with his baby mama was on the rocks.

He said on the day of the incident, the man went to his baby mama’s home and asked to take his son to his parental home so that he could also spend some time with his relatives. Without suspecting anything, the source said they allowed the man to take the child to his parental home, which is located in the same area.

However, a while later, the source said the baby mama had a strange feeling that the father of her child could be up to something as their relationship was on the rocks.

As a result, the source said the baby mama raised her concerns with some of her family members, who were present when the father came, to get the minor.
“She also reported her suspicions to the police,” the source said.

Indeed later on, the source said the man called the baby mama and told her that he had killed their son. The shocked baby mama raised the alarm with family members and again visited the police station where she narrated that she had received a call from her ex-lover, informing her that he had killed their son.
The police acted swiftly and rushed to the man’s parental home together with the baby mama and other family members.

Upon arrival, the source said the police made a shocking discovery in the man’s house as they found both the boy and his father dead on a bed.
He said the man’s hand was around his son’s shoulders. He said after investigating the crime scene, the police suspected that the man fed his son a poisonous substance, which he also took after notifying his baby mama that he had just killed their son.
