SA INYANGA BLOWS WHISTLE ON LISWATI MURDER SUSPECT

MBABANE – A liSwati man was arrested while at a traditional healer’s house to cleanse himself, for an alleged murder.


Celumusa Mabaso (25) was said to have stabbed the mother of his two children, Siphesihle Shongwe (22) multiple times after they had an argument.
It could not be established what the argument was about, or which part of Eswatini Mabaso was from.


The stabbing was reported to have happened last week Friday at around 9.30am, at Maminza area, after his arrest, Mabaso appeared at Kanyamazane Magistrates Court on Monday.


During his appearance before court, he was informed that he would appear at Kabokweni Magistrates Court, where he would apply for bail.
Information gathered, was that Mabaso allegedly stabbed Shongwe in the presence of their children, aged four and three years.
Pienaar Cluster Spokesperson Captain Jabu Ndubane confirmed the murder and that they had charged Mabaso.


Information gathered was that one of the children aged four year old, went out of the house crying, with bloody clothes after witnessing his father stab his mother.
While on the street, a teenager who was passing by, who at first thought the child had been injured.


The teenager then took the child back into the house and in the passage of the house, he was met by Shongwe’s lifeless body, with the other child aged three years old, crying and clinging to the bloody and lifeless body.


The teenager then alerted the neighbours of his discovery and the police were called and they came to the scene.
While the police were gathering evidence at the scene, they received a phone call from a traditional healer, who informed them that the suspect was at his place, at Karino on a citrus farm.


All this time, the traditional healer had locked Mabaso inside one of his houses, as he tricked him that they would start the cleansing soon and the police found him inside.The weapon suspected to have been used in the murder was found outside the house on a marula tree and Mabaso was arrested.


“It is true there is a suspect who is a liSwati national, who is in our custody and has been charged with murder. It was reported that Mabaso left the murder scene, without being seen and he went straight to the traditional healer’s house, where he was eventually apprehended,” Ndubane said.
