KANDINDA – A woman fled from her alleged abusive lover thinking she would be safe but little did she know that he would find her and brutally end her life.

Children and other members of the public watched in disbelief and cried hysterically after a man, who had fled South Africa, stabbed the mother of his four children about 20 times all over the body. This is the gruesome murder incident which has set tongues wagging in the KaNdinda community.

The woman, Futhi Nkambule (27), had been in hiding for two weeks when the father of her four children, whom she had dated for 11 years eventually found her in her sister’s bedroom while enjoying her supper.

Information gathered from her elder sister, Bonisile, is that Nkambule had been staying in South Africa with the children and her lover, *Themba (40) of Lavumisa, before the incident.
She had informed family members that the relationship was marred by problems and physical abuse.

“She came to Eswatini after one of our sisters had passed on. After the funeral service, I received a phone call, where she informed me that she was currently going through problems and needed a place to hide from her violent and dangerous lover. Each and every day, we would talk and she would tell me how her lover physically abused her to a point where she was admitted several times to hospitals in South Africa,” Bonisile alleged.

She added that her sister had further alleged that  she had caught her partner with other women several times. She said each time Nkambule was confronted him, he would get angry and assault her. The sister stated that on Monday, Nkambule had prepared supper and they headed to the main bedroom where they spoke about the issues in her relationship.

As they were talking, the suspect is said to have called but his calls were ignored.

Chatting

“We continued chatting and while at it, I saw a tall man emerging from the passage and discovered it was the same man who had been living with my sister for years,” Bonisile said.
She said the man ordered that her sister should leave with him.
“He shouted and said ye-Futhi asambe, lilanga lishonile, uyangibambelela’- loosely translated, ‘We must leave and stop wasting my time.”
