MBABANE- Helping people in times of need is not his organisation’s slogan, but his lifestyle. Baphalali Swaziland Red Cross Society’s Director Danger Nhlabatsi yesterday witnessed an accident by Kia Motors and took it upon himself to provide assistance to the public by controlling traffic after the occurrence of the accident.

The accident involved a white sedan and truck.
The truck was coming from town, while the sedan was approaching from the Manzini direction.

Nhlabatsi  said the traffic lights were non-operational and the truck did not stop-resulting in it crashing into the white sedan which was driven by a woman.
After the accident, Nhlabatsi alighted from his vehicle to attend to the woman, who had been ejected  from the vehicle  and was on the tarmac.

Unscathed

Fortunately, she came out unscathed. He mentioned that the woman was in a state of shock and he lent her his phone to call the police.
While they waited for the traffic police to arrive, Nhlabatsi controlled the traffic which was caused by the accident. He stated that he did that because it was his job.

“I work for a humanitarian organisation and it is my duty to provide assistance in times of need,” Nhlabatsi said.
Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the accident and conveyed her appreciation to Nhlabatsi for not only being a responsible citizen but also one who availed his services even out of duty.

“We appreciate and commend him for his assistance,” said Vilakati.
