HLUTI – It hasn’t been long after worried teachers predicted things would turn out this way.

A police officer was found in a compromising position with a schoolgirl as other pupils sat for an exam in a nearby hall on Monday.
The officer is among the group that was dispatched to schools across the country to monitor the ongoing examinations, following the labour dispute pitting teachers and their employer – government.

Sneaked

The pair had allegedly sneaked off to a teacher’s house at Florence Christian Academy, in Hluti, at the time when the officer was supposed to be manning security in the exam room.
It is understood that the female pupil, who stays at the school’s boarding facility, usually paid visits to the teacher’s house.

However, on this particular day, the teacher who owns the house was away conducting lessons in class when the Form II pupil was allegedly caught in a compromising position with the police officer.

Information gathered was that both the officer and the young girl should not have been inside the house when a startled domestic worker bumped into them unexpectedly.

A resident said the maid caught the police officer kissing and touching the girl inappropriately.
The incident reportedly happened during the morning hours when the house helper entered  the place where the two were allegedly having a good time, much to their surprise.

Disturbing

The disturbing incident was reported to the owner of the house, who immediately alerted the school Head teacher Nomcebo Simelane.
A disgusted Simelane confirmed that she reported one male officer who was caught with a female pupil at a time when he was expected to be providing security for pupils sitting an exam.

“They were caught in a compromising position and I had no alternative but to report the matter to the police in order to protect my pupils.
This thing really annoyed me because the officer was only sent to the school to provide security and not to abuse children,” she said.
The matter was reported at the Hluti Police Station where an investigation was subsequently launched.
