SIKHUPHE – The public outcry over the allegedly stopped PSPF probe did not go unnoticed as fsra has been given the green light to continue with its investigations.

The Minister of Public Service, Owen Dlamini, revealed this during an interview which was conducted by this publication at King Mswati III International Airport, where he had gone to welcome back the King from his international duties.

He said as Cabinet, they were not against the probing of the Public Service Pension Fund (PSPF) by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) but they wanted the authority to conduct the probe by the book.

“To this end, we have decided to let FSRA continue with its investigations into PSPF but should do so by following the law.”
Procedures
The minister added that government had nothing to hide at PSPF, thus the FSRA was free to proceed with its investigations for as long as it would follow the laid down procedures.

On that note, the minister encouraged FSRA to take the findings of the investigations to relevant bodies. He made an example that if the investigation could unearth some suspected corrupt practices, FSRA should take those findings to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
Meanwhile, FRSA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile Dlamini, said they were happy if government, through the line ministry, had corrected its mistake.

“It is good that the minister has said this himself,” he said.
He also said their investigations were still ongoing and they hope that the minister would also order the PSPF to cooperate with the investigations. He said their investigation was lawful.
“In fact, our authority is derived from the law,” he said.
