MBABANE – It seems like Minister of ICT Dumisani Ndlangamandla strongly believes in women taking decision making roles.
Fresh from firing a woman from being a leader of the Swaziland Television Authority (STVA) Board, the minister has announcement a female replacement.

Ndlangamandla fired SwaziBank executive member Nozizwe Mulela last month and has replaced her with AM Recruitment Services Managing Director, Carol Ngcobo on a three-year-contract.

The appointment was announced at a press conference held at the ministry’s boardroom yesterday.
Ngcobo, a lawyer by profession, takes over the hot seat at a critical time as the national television station has been without a chief executive officer (CEO)for over five months.

Expired

The position became vacant after the then CEO, Bongani Sigcokosiyancinca Dlamini’s contract expired and he allegedly communicated that he did not want it to be renewed.

However, Dlamini allegedly changed his mind and communicated that he was eager for the contract renewal and this led to a controversy as Mulela and her Board members had already completed the recruitment process and further submitted recommendations to the minister.

This allegedly led to the breakdown of the relationship between Mulela and the minister, who eventually fired her. As expected, Ngcobo’s first major assignment would be to ensure the finalisation of the recruitment process.
