KHUPHUKA – A police officer’s husband, who allegedly took advantage of his wife’s uniform, wore it and further went to steal dagga, was stabbed and killed by a dagga dealer.

“Last week someone was murdered over dagga, now it is yet another murder. What is more shocking is the fact that this time the people posed as police officers, something which infuriated the dagga dealers,” a resident in Khuphuka said yesterday.
The alleged dagga dealers boarded a two-door VW Polo on Wednesday afternoon and headed for Khuphuka where they contacted one dagga dealer, and requested to buy bags of dagga.

Upon arrival at the place, the three men met up with the dagga dealer near the forests and held a meeting inside the car, where logistics such as the price and weight of the dagga were discussed.
While the alleged dagga dealer went to get the dagga, the three men had already devised a plan to wear Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) uniforms to disguise.

Upon his return, at the meeting spot, he found them wearing the RSP gear, one a combat RSP gear and another a jack-in (shiny traffic jacket).
“They immediately drew guns and suddenly told the dagga dealer that he was under arrest, this was after he had returned with the bags of dagga. They posed as police officers and loaded the bags of dagga in their vehicle, alleging it was exhibits.”
“Since all the dagga dealers in the area are vigilant and know people are out to steal their dagga, many people immediately arrived at the scene.
