LAWUBA – As the feud over elections jobs at KoNtshingila rages on, a resident was caught up in an altercation that put him in an ambulance.

The victim, whose identity is known to this publication, was reportedly attacked inside a butchery situated at Embelebeleni, outside Hlatikhulu.

He was allegedly attacked just when he was about to place an order for food shortly after 6pm on Monday.
Residents believe the attack was motivated by the ongoing dispute in one of the troubled chiefdom’s royal kraals, Embangweni, also under the jurisdiction of acting Chief Gelane Zwane.

Further compounding the issue is the fact that the alleged attacker holds an important position in one of the royal kraals believed to be the stronghold of the acting chief, and he is known in the area as a close acquaintance of the family which is at the centre of the elections jobs controversy.

However, to separate rumour from reality, the police have been roped in to probe the attack and as well as the link to the raging dispute.
As a result of the attack, the 25-year-old victim sustained injuries to the head and his neck was lacerated after he was allegedly strangled by his assailant until he lost consciousness, in full view of other customers.

The bizarre beating came after the attacker allegedly approached his victim and accused him of poking his nose on issues that did not concern him.
While the person on the receiving end was still trying to get some clarification, the attacker allegedly went straight for the youngster’s neck.
