MBABANE – The country has parking arrears exceeding E10 million in London.

The parking woes are not unique to the residents of the capital city as the country’s High Commission in the United Kingdom is in arrears of E10 081 032.16.
This fee was been accumulated from 5 008 fines.

The country is listed under the London Congestion Charge. Under this charge, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon (Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) noted that the value of unpaid Congestion Charge debt incurred by the country in London since February 2003 was E10 081 032.16 (£581 510).

In his report, the Minister  of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs stated that debts owed by Diplomatic Missions and International Organisations in the United Kingdom since the introduction in February 2003 until 31 December 2016 as advised by Transport for London (TfL) was £105 419 835.

On the country’s debt, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, said: “We’ll follow it to get to know what the debt is for.”
The minister noted that if the country would have to pay the debt, it would do so.
He emphasised though that his office was not aware of the debt.
