MBABANE – Did a lawyer pull out a gun during a family meeting  over the estate of a deceased businessman at the Master’s Office in Manzini?

The lawyer, Mzwandile Sobandla Dlamini, who is an executor in the estate of Thulani Madlela Dlamini, allegedly also chased after one of the family members with the gun.

Among the reasons for calling the meeting, according to the businessman’s his eldest son Ncamiso, was for the family of the deceased to get clarity from Mzwandile on why he was allegedly avoiding to have an audience with the beneficiaries of the estate.

Ncamiso alleged that Mzwandile avoided the beneficiaries in every way possible. The businessman’s eldest son stated in the application before court to remove Mzwandile as the executor, among other prayers, that in the meeting of Thulani’s next of kin, the attorney and the Master of the High Court had been called following complaints about the manner he was handling the estate. The application has been filed by three of Thulani’s children and his brother.

The veracity of these allegations is still to be tested in court. The businessman’s children are represented by Kwanele Magagula of Sithole and Magagula Attorneys.
Ncamiso alleged that when asked why he avoided meeting with the family, Mzwandile became confrontational. He is alleged to have pulled out a gun and chased after one of the family members with the firearm.

“When being called to a meeting, he became militant such that when one of the family members tried to reason with him as to why he was avoiding to have an audience with the family, he drew a gun and chased away my uncle, Bheki Dlamini,” submitted Ncamiso.
He informed the court that ever since the incident, no meeting has been convened. According to Ncamiso, since Mzwandile allegedly exhibited an unusual behaviour, the family became suspicious of his motives.
