WOMAN (39) DUMPED BY HUBBY (31), KILLS HERSELF

DUZE – A three-year-old marriage ended tragically when a woman killed herself after being allegedly dumped by her husband and father of her daughter.

She is also said to have attempted to end the life of her minor daughter by feeding her some portions of the deadly weevil tablets.
The minor survived.

The incident occurred on Saturday in Kajimba, Siphofaneni, where *Thembi (39) ingested an undisclosed number of weevil tablets, which she shared with her 12-month-old toddler.

According to some family members, Thembi is said to have had a misunderstanding with her husband *Mandla (31), who is alleged to have wanted to end their marriage.

Custom

The two are said to have been married between 2014 and 2015, through Swazi Law and Custom and a daughter was born from the union.
According to the relatives, after being informed of plans to end the marriage, Thembi found it difficult to come to terms with the latest developments as she had high hopes for her marriage.

“She decided to ingest the weevil tablets together with her own child,” the source close to the family said.
Before she met her death, Thembi is said to have travelled with her husband and child from Pigg’s Peak where the couple resided, to Siphofaneni, the husband’s parental home.

The argument is said to have heated up along the way so much that the husband alighted from the public transport vehicle they were travelling in before reaching the intended destination.
He later proceeded to his parental home and after a while, he is said to have questioned his family members if they had seen Thembi and they responded to the negative.
