MBABANE – “Are our relatives being certified dead and taken to the mortuary while still alive?”

The question came up from a family that believes one of their own was also certified dead while still alive at the Releigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital and taken to the mortuary.

They raised the question after reports by the Times of Swaziland’s March 26th publication, of how police had to be called in to calm a situation that was turning volatile at the Dups Funeral Home.

This was after an aggrieved Langa family is said to have confronted staff at the funeral home as it was of the view that their relative had been wrongly declared dead at the RFM Hospital.

Their relative had been admitted to the hospital on March 12 and doctors presumed that she was suffering from heart failure.
She was certified dead two days later but the family was not convinced.

They claim that this was done without her being properly checked if she was still alive or not.
According to Ephraim Zwane, a relative, their daughter, Sakhile Dlamini was diabetic and would at times have blackouts, where she would be a comatose condition.  in

She often lost consciousness, they narrated
