MBABANE – About 20 Swazis are said to have visited incarcerated murder suspect Sipho Shongwe while in prison in South Africa.
The 20 Swazi nationals form part of about 500 people who frequented the Barberton Maximum Prison in South Africa to visit Shongwe.

However, there are strong suspicions that Shongwe may have colluded with some of his visitors to craft his alleged fraudulent liberation warrant.

These claims are yet to be verified by the court.
Shongwe has been labelled as one of the most visited prisoners at the Barberton Maximum Prison, as per the list provided by the department of Correctional Services of South Africa.

The visits were made during his incarceration for the R17 million Bronkospruit heist and attempted murder charges.
Among the people who visited Shongwe in Barberton Maximum Prison was popular South African businesswoman and soccer administrator Ria Ledwaba. Ledwaba is the Managing Director of South Africa’s GREE Air conditioning company and the founder of the defunct Ria Stars Football Club. In Swaziland, Shongwe operates a company under the same style name.

The Swazis who visited Shongwe were mostly from the Manzini- Mbabane corridor, according to information sourced from court papers.
Each visitor was given 60 minutes (one hour) to see Shongwe.  Some of his visitors from Swaziland were M. Simelane, S. Mlotshwa, S. Dlamini, K. Shongwe and A. Dlamini. On the list, the people whose names appeared several times were; K. Dlamini, T. Khoza. M. Nkosi, R. Ledwaba, M. Simelane and C. Fakude.
