MBABANE - “Gamedze had a bad side and he did not want this side exposed by the media.”

Zweli Martin Dlamini popularly known as ‘Zwemart’ of the now defunct Swaziland Shopping Newspaper said this was the reason his publication was shut down, the same week he was supposed to write about a plot that would have exposed the not so good side of the popular businessman.

He said this when interviewed by South African radio station Ligwalagwala FM, based in Mpumalanga last week as the shocking news of the death of businessman Victor Gamedze spread throughout Africa.

Gamedze was shot dead last Sunday evening while walking towards his car at Ezulwini Galp Filling Station.
Although Dlamini refused to speak on the unpublished story that has since caused him to go into hiding in South Africa that implicated the slain businessman’s clandestine move touching on the king.

When asked about it during the interview, he did emphasise the fact that as a journalist he has duty to expose the good as well as the bad about any person in society as long as those actions affected other people.
He said before he could even write or publish the article his newspaper was closed down by government.
Dlamini said that Gamedze was able to do this because he had a lot of influence in government and some of his stories were never published.
