MANZINI – Residents of Ekudzeni acted swiftly after the alarm was raised that certain people travelling in a black BMW sedan had kidnapped a man and bundled him into the vehicle’s boot.

The residents are said to have severely assaulted the suspects who had allegedly kidnapped the man after promising him a job at the King’s Office at Nkhanini.

The suspects allegedly called Zweli Fakudze, who is in his early 20s, through his mobile phone to meet them at a certain place.
They allegedly told him that they had a job for him and he needed to furnish them with his personal documents including his identity card, Graded Tax number and driver’s licençe among others.

The men are alleged to have further ordered Fakudze to meet them near a waiting room situated at Zombodze with cash amounting to E1 700 for medical check-up to secure the job at the King’s Office.
Information gathered is that the man’s aunt was suspicious about the authenticity of the job deal.

After giving her nephew the money, she decided to follow him to witness the transaction. She is said to have parked her vehicle at a distance, far from the public road, where her nephew had been waiting for the men.

Indeed the men approached Fakudze driving in a black BMW sedan, picked him up and continued to drive towards Nkhanini direction.
It is alleged that the aunt followed the vehicle from a distance until it got to a dirt road past Zombodze, where it stopped.
The men got out of the car and forcefully pulled Fakudze out and bundled him into the boot, while his aunt was watching from a distance, inside her vehicle.
