VICTOR ASSASSINATION: POLICE ROUND UP 3

MBABANE – Police have rounded up and detained three Swazis to help them with their investigations on the assassination of businessman Victor Gamedze.


The three men, who are well-known in the social circles, were called to Mbabane Police Station on Monday morning, where they were questioned before they were released later on the same day.


In the afternoon (Monday) they were called back to the station where they were kept overnight till yesterday.
Information gathered from reliable sources is that the three are being kept at the regional headquarters, which is housed at the police station, while police intensify their investigations into the murder.


The three men are known but their names cannot be revealed as they have not been charged since the police are claiming that they are helping them with the murder investigation.


By yesterday evening the three men were still kept at the police station with the task team that is investigating the murder of Gamedze.
Gamedze was murdered at Galp Filling Station in Ezulwini on Sunday evening, where he was shot twice in the head at close range by an unknown gunman.


 The football administrator and businessman was from watching a soccer match at Somhlolo National Stadium when he was killed.
According to well-placed sources, one of the three men is the owner of one of the getaway cars which were allegedly spotted leaving the crime scene after the shooting.
