MBABANE – A visit by a deputy sheriff and top lawyer to a businessman’s home turned nasty leading to the latter getting injured and left with a fractured arm.

The businessman, Vusumuzi Shongwe, who runs a tombstone business, allegedly got injured on his left hand when he got involved in a scuffle with the deputy sheriff’s team, which was in the company of a top lawyer.
Shongwe is the same man who made headlines when he handed his son over to the police after he had been implicated in a robbery incident that took place at Hhelehhele.

He handed him over driving his Harley Davidson motorbike.
Shongwe, who had to be stitched and treated in hospital, alleged that he received a call from his receptionist who informed him that there were people from a security company who had come to see him.

“Since I was already on my way to the office, I told her that I was going to be there soonest,” Shongwe said in an interview with this newspaper.

He alleged that upon arrival, two gentlemen came out of his office, one of them being the lawyer.
They introduced themselves with the other man saying he was a deputy sheriff and that they had come to attach his property in relation to a debt he had with a security company.

“I asked him to show me a letter of appointment and his ID as a deputy sheriff. After I had asked for that, the attorney went to a white Isuzu twin cab which had about five men and a lady. From the car he came back with two papers, one of them was a notice of attachment from the High Court,” Shongwe alleged.
