MBABANE – It was an unusual start to the Tuesday Cabinet meetings yesterday for Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini.

Unlike in normal days when the PM would just walk in, greet ministers and start the business of the day, yesterday turned to be a mini celebration for the head of government’s 75th birthday.
Just as he walked into the Cabinet conference room where other ministers had gathered, he was met with shouts of ‘surprise’, which reverberated throughout the room.

Indeed, the PM was taken aback as he had not anticipated such. A huge cake awaited him right in front of his seat.
It was a three-tier cake decorated in cream white and a somewhat dusty yellow colour.
After regaining his composure from the surprise, the PM took some time to take pictures with the ministers prior to getting down to business.

In a brief comment, the PM said it was a pleasant surprise.
“I had thought I was done with the celebrations at KaBhekinkosi on Sunday and had not expected anything from my Cabinet team.

In fact, I was fresh from another meeting and was rushing for Cabinet when I was greeted by the huge surprise and a happy birthday song. It was quite amazing though,” the PM said.
