MBABANE – It seems the rivalry between the outgoing Ezulwini Town Board councillors and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development Phiwayinkhosi Mabuza will never end.

This follows that most of the councillors snubbed a meeting with the minister, which was set for yesterday.
The meeting comes after the minister finally presented the report on the commission of inquiry which was done in December and completed in January this year to the cuncillors.

For the past few weeks, the councillors have been demanding that the minister release the report after they had heard part of its contents and findings to the effect that they had been cleared.

Earlier this month, the councillors went as far as taking up the matter with their lawyers and gave the minister a two-day ultimatum to furnish them with the report. The much awaited report is said to have been delivered to the councillors on Friday last week, and that on the same day they received envelopes summoning them to meet with the minister at 10am yersteday.

The invitation letter was clear that the meeting was for the councillors to appear before the minister and tell him how they had performed in the past five years.
However, some of the councillors are said to have viewed the ‘summon’ as a joke and vowed that they were not going to show up for the meeting.

Some of them, who were called by this newspaper, confirmed that they had not bothered themselves as they did not understand the intention.
