MBABANE – If you felt lucky when entering for the Times of Swaziland/MTN competition, this is for you.

The second Times of Swaziland/MTN draw came with even more surprises for contenders as some winners were drawn more than once for the different categories in the competition. The draw was conducted at the Times offices yesterday.
The questions that were asked were aimed at educating the public on Mobile Telecommunications Network’s (MTN) products and services.

To show that people were aware of what the service provider, in conjunction with the Times of Swaziland publication, intended to get across to them, some of those drawn appeared in more than one category, which the two companies’ officials commended.
The questions asked included that people should state the number of girls and young women that had benefited from the project that empowered girls to make their own re-useable sanitary towels.

MTN Foundation Coordinator Landokuhle Dlamini congratulated the winners and said those who won multiple times were proof that the more one entered for the competition, they stood more chances to win more of the set prizes.

Dlamini added that the foundation was fervent about the girl-child and ensuring that all their essentials were met. To warrant this, the foundation, in partnership with the American Peace Corp, UNISWA and SWASA, have empowered over 1 500 young women in rural areas to make their own re-useable sanitary towels.

“The foundation is passionate about young women that is why we have initiated the project to empower them, especially those in the rural areas,” she said.
