MBABANE – Blood samples will determine whether Qing Ming He and Dao Thanta Hue are linked to the kidnapping of Matsapha businessman Almor Oliveria.

Ming, the Chinese man and Hue the, Vietnamese woman, are the two suspects who were recently arrested in connection with the kidnapping of the businessman, who went missing in Matsapha a few weeks ago.
The businessman’s whereabouts are still unknown.

In a bid to ascertain whether the duo was linked to the kidnapping, the Crown yesterday moved an urgent application seeking the court to issue an order for the taking of blood sample from the duo.

It is believed that the results of the blood samples will play a pivotal role in the police investigations. The blood samples will also help the accused persons and the Crown during the course of the trial.

When moving the application, Senior Crown Counsel Macebo Nxumalo informed the court that Ming and  Hue were initially remanded in custody until May 8, 2017 but were brought before court in order for the application to be made. Nxumalo explained that the taking of the blood samples was not meant to frustrate the accused persons but to assist in the police investigations with regard to the kidnapping of the businessman.

Nxumalo said the sole reason why the State requested for the duo’s blood samples was because they wanted to ascertain they matched the blood stains that were found in the kidnapped businessman’s motor vehicle.
Ming had no objection to the application. However, his co-accused informed the court that she wanted to say something before responding to the application.
