KWALUSENI - Well-known gospel singer Apostle Vusi Makulube has come out to talk about a matter that not only embarrassed him but sent tongues wagging across the Christian fraternity.
The award-winning artist makes mention of this incident in his new video, which is already selling like hot cakes.

Makulube is leader of the sensational Heavenly Beneficiaries gospel group. He is also a teacher by profession and has been teaching for 13 years. Makuluve used to be known as Vusi Gumedze.
However, his real name is Mcolisi Vusumuzi Makuluve.
He says in the new video that he is married and has three children.

He is still growing, with the grace of God, in fatherhood and in his career as a gospel artist.
He has already produced 12 albums in his singing career.
The singer says to date, the ‘Pho, ngingathula kanjani’ album was one of his best.

The new one, with the song, Kea i-kokobetsa (ungithaphelele) has also been received with excitement by throngs of gospel music lovers across the country.
In siSwati, kea ikokobetsa means, ‘Ngiyatitfoba’ (I humble myself).
‘The singer says each time he releases an album, it becomes better than the previous one.

Among the hardships he has encountered is being invited to sing at church services and not being recognised once he gets there.
The choir then goes back home dejected. He also complains of exploitation, when they are made to perform but paid peanuts. He said artists worked hard to produce the best in terms of music but when time came for them to be paid, they did not get what they were worth.

“Some people love you and not your music. Others love your music and not you,” said the popular artist.
He said such people are those who promote music piracy in the kingdom.

“Others get excited when they see us. They greet us but do not buy our music. They also criticise us but never buy the music,” he said.
