MBABANE – Former Mhlatane High School Head teacher Simeon Makhubu allegedly spent a total of E1.6 million to appease an alleged inkhosikati in return for an ambassadorial position in Kuwait.

The money was allegedly withdrawn from the coffers of the school during his time as head teacher.
This is contained in the summary of evidence to be presented in court in the matter in which Makhubu is alleged to have defrauded Mhlatane High School of money amounting to E1.8 million.
Other amounts of money were allegedly paid to individuals and suppliers.

Makhubu has been co-charged with Chawe Nxumalo, Comfort Zakhele Hlophe and Vusani Hlophe.
According to a member of the school committee Jabulile Tsabedze, Makhubu allegedly informed the committee that the inkhosikati had asked for financial assistance from him and she had sent Temkhitsi Dlamini to collect the money.
Temkhitsi, of Emshingishingini, allegedly impersonated the inkhosikati when calling Makhubu on the phone and he was duped and even sang the King’s praises when receiving the calls.
Makhubu allegedly admitted to the school committee that he withdrew the money from the school’s account.

Tsabedze alleged that Makhubu never consulted the school committee about the money he gave to the inkhosikati.
He is alleged to have mentioned that the inkhosikati would repay the money twofold.

Makhubu also allegedly informed the school committee members that Temkhitsi told him that the inkhosikati promised him an ambassadorial post and that the King was making preparations in that regard.
Esther Magagula had also allegedly been conned by Temkhitsi a sum of E40 000, who informed her that the inkhosikati would secure a job for her son if she paid the money.
She allegedly notified Makhubu that he had been conned but he did not listen.

According to the inkhosikati’s brother who is a witness in the matter, he heard from his other brother in June 2011 that there were rumours doing rounds in Pigg’s Peak to the effect that Makhubu was giving money to Temkhitsi who used their sister’s name.
