MBABANE – The turbulence regarding the local branch of the CPA has finally come to an end.

This, after veteran Lobamba Lomdzala constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Marwick Khumalo was re-elected chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Swaziland branch executive.

The vote of confidence in MP Khumalo was shown by members of the executive committee during an election that was held on Monday morning in Parliament.
During the election, Senator Lungile Gama was chosen to be Khumalo’s deputy or vice while Senator Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa is the new treasurer of the local branch.

In an interview, Khumalo confirmed the latest developments and said an official announcement was yet to be made in Parliament.
He requested not to say much at this point.

There has been plenty turbulence with regard to the local branch of the CPA as it has hardly been active following infighting within Parliament, particularly between the Speaker Themba Msibi and Senate President Gelane Zwane and some Members of Parliament after they voted out the old committee which was chaired by Dvokodvweni MP Sitezi Dlamini.
