PIGG’S PEAK – Even if one had no intention of listening to the gospel, it would have been impossible to ignore Pastor Moses Warren who was preaching while perched on a branch on a tree top.

The pastor, known for unusual means of preaching, climbed up a tree which is almost as high as a three-storey building to deliver his sermon. The large tree overlooks the Pigg’s Peak Bus rank where scores of vendors sell their wares.
Commuters were shocked as they listened to the pastor while they waited inside public transport vehicles. Warren held a megaphone in one hand while his other hand clung onto a branch as he preached.

He was wearing a blue overall and had also hung a red cloth that made him easily visible several metres away.
As he preached, his voice echoed in the surrounding areas. Pastor Warren said by climbing up the tree, he was able to avoid imbibers as it would be impossible for them to climb up the tree while drunk.

Pigg’s Peak is known for its many watering holes such that within a very small area, there are about 12 places where one can indulge in alcohol.
He also said the other reason he got up the tree was that according to the Bible, prophets often went to higher ground or a mountain when proclaiming God’s word.

“Even Hezekiah went up the mountain,” said Warren. He also said his message was taken from the Book of Psalms 107: verses 11, 12 and 20. He said in the scriptures, he was telling the people that the only way that they could escape death was by believing in Jesus.
