KABOYCE HIGH TOPS

MBABANE – KaBoyce High School regained its pre-eminence when it comes to Form V examinations by topping all the schools in the country.


This was revealed at a media briefing where the Swaziland General Certificate of Secondary Education (SGCSE) and International General Certification of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination results were released.


KaBoyce is the same school that came second last year after losing the top spot to Free Evangelical Assemblies High School.
In 2015, the school had its 2014 results withheld on suspicion of malpractice but was cleared and declared the best of them all.


To prove its dominance, the school had nine of its pupils making it into the list of the country’s top pupil who scored an aggregate of six to 11 with one of them becoming the second best pupil.
The 2016 results were released by the Minister of Health, Sibongile Simelane, who acted on behalf of the Minister of Education and Training Phineas Magagula.


The overall pass rate in the 2016 results is 92.55 per cent which shows an increase of 0.15 per cent when compared with the 2015 results.
Three candidates, who were chosen on their best performance in the best six subjects, took the number one spot after scoring above A* while the second position was shared by two pupils who scored five A* and one A.

Candidates who sat for the examination were 12 921 in total where 6548 were males while 6373 were females. The total number shows an increase of 558 candidates when compared with 2015 where there were 12 362. The number of private candidates in 2016 was 4088 where 1593 (58.97 per cent) were males while 2495 (61.03 per cent) were females.
