JOY’S SALARY ALMOST DOUBLES

MBABANE – Pastor Joy Maziya, the estranged wife of Prime Minister (PM) Sibusiso Dlamini, has had her salary increased at least three times in the last two years.

She is the Director of the Swaziland National Library Services and now earns E41 967 from the E23 275 per month she earned in 2014.
She has been receiving her pay on three different and upward salary scales during that period.
These were D7,  F1 and F2 - all in less than 24 months.

She earned E23 275 at the Swazi National Archives in Lobamba, where she was based when she met her husband.
Government paid her on the scale D7.
Just after her engagement to her husband, she was promoted to the position of Director of National Libraries.

The pastor was then promoted to salary grade F1. Under the above arrangement, she was paid E28 053 per month, which makes a total of E336 706 per year.
Following the review of salaries for call public servants, government moved her to the grade F2.
This is where the PM’s wife is paid E41 967 per month or E503 605 per year.

In an interview on Thursday, the pastor said she was elated about the regrading of her post.
She also said she was happy about her achievements, which have seen her rise to the position she now occupies in government.
