PIGG’S PEAK – A government vehicle normally used to deliver medication to various clinics around Northern Hhohho was grounded last Friday after an unknown person deflated the tyres.

The incident is said to have happened during the early hours of Friday, at the Pigg’s Peak Government Hospital where the vehicle was parked.
It is believed that an unknown person entered the premises of the hospital, bypassing tight security 24-hour security at the hospital.
The security guards were also left puzzled as to who could have deflated the tyres of the vehicle.

Pigg’s Peak Hospital uses the vehicle to service the rural communities with the much needed drugs, including Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs.
When one of the drivers reported for duty on the day, he is said to have been shocked to discover the vehicle’s three wheels had been deflated.

Some of the officials who were interviewed at the hospital said they were shocked to discover what had been done to the said vehicle.
“It is clear that the person who did this was angry with the staff members at the hospital,” said an official.

The official said they would not have drawn this conclusion if only one tyre had been deflated.
“This is clearly an attack by someone who is angry,” he said.

He also said he did not rule out the possibility of interference by someone who also worked within the hospital.
The official declined to give his names for fear of being victimised.

He said he did not understand why the person had been aiming to damage the tyres of the vehicle.
The vehicle remained grounded for several hours of the day.
