MANZINI – Seven months on, the Voice of the Church (VOC) Christian radio station has still not received the E10 million donation made by Bishop Jeremiah Mxolisi Thwala.
Thwala is a Botswana-based businessman.

The donation was made during the VOC’s 20th anniversary celebration held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, on Saturday, September 26, 2015,
The astounding donation was made before an audience of more than 2 000 people, including Prime Minister Sibusiso Dlamini and his predecessor Absalom Themba Dlamini, who is known as ‘AT.’
Reverend Zachariah Mthethwa, VOC National Director, reluctantly confirmed that the donation had not yet been received in full.

He said they had only received E93 000.
However, he declined to produce proof thereof, when requested to do so by this newspaper. He said the amount, which is less than E100 000, was deposited by Thwala in November 2015.
When asked when the balance, E9 907 000, would be deposited by the bishop, he said he would not be able to pre-empt the exact future date.

Former Prime Minister Absalom, during an interview with the Times SUNDAY, said he did not make a pledge but made an offering of E32 000, which he presented on the same day.
He said he had the entire amount collected from members of his family and friends. He was ready on the day of the donation, as it is his custom to leave a cheque instead of a promise.
The former PM had been invited to the anniversary by VOC as a motivator. He said he had appealed to others, including companies to assist him to raise funds for the donation.

Absalom went on to advise that where one had made a pledge or promise before God, the maker must fulfill it and failure to do so was an offence before God.
He said if a person knew before hand that they did not have the means to fulfill the promise or pledge it was advisable to keep quiet and not make the promise at all. Absalom said it was a sin to lie before God.
However, he mentioned that he was not directing this to anyone but he always included it in all his speeches because it was a matter of principle.
