MBABANE – Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, who visited Swaziland less than two years ago, managed a feat many of his peers in the Christian fraternity could very well be envious of.

The Malawian-born, South Africa-based man of God made history when he filled the largest football stadium in Africa, FNB Stadium with a capacity of 94 736 during his annual spiritual crossover gathering.
The day was dubbed ‘Lion of Judah Night’.

The most popular crossover event in Swaziland was in Manzini and hosted by Mduduzi Simelane, who is popularly known as ‘Gawuzela’.
Over 12 000 people are said to have crammed the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Thursday night, dancing to gospel music until the morning hours of Friday, January 1, 2016.
Bushiri visited the Kingdom of Swaziland in July 2014.

He made several prophecies regarding topical issues, among which was the ‘fact’ that the killers of Funekile Gule would be found.
He even gave the name of one of the alleged killers as Thokozani.
The person or people who murdered the Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) employee have still not been found.
The police keep saying they are still investigating this murder, which occurred in April 2014, at Checkers in Mbabane.

Gule was found dead on April 17, 2014 at the home of Mbabane Highlanders patron Moses Dlamini.
Bushiri was in Swaziland courtesy of Pastor Geoffrey Kyalo of the Victory Celebration Embassy.  Kyalo’s church is situated in Mbabane opposite the Thokoza Church Centre.
However, members of Kyalo’s church in Swaziland did not attend the crossover service in South Africa.

The visiting prophet, who arrived in the country for a few days, shocked those who attended one of his services in Manzini when he informed them that Gule was not mauled by dogs that belonged to her former landlord, Dlamini.
He also dismissed reports that Gule was shot as untrue.
Instead, Bushiri told the congregation that Gule was first raped by five men before she was murdered.
