UNISWA STUDENTS CAGEY WITH THEIR EXAM RESULTS

MBABANE – The usual excited faces seen at Uniswa’s campuses after results have been released were not common there yesterday.

Unlike in recent years where students were eager and excited to be interviewed on how they fared, yesterday it was a case of ‘please leave me alone’.
This unusual response did not necessarily mean that those who had been approached had not done well.

The situation was the same both at the Kwaluseni and Mbabane campuses.
One student who was not shy to share his excitement over his results was the Mbabane Campus Student Representative Coouncil (SRC) Chairperson, Sibusiso Mncina, who shared that he did exceptionally well in all his subjects and would not be supplementing.

Mncina was doing his 3rd year in Environmental Health Science and is proceeding to his last year.
“My results are remarkably good and I am not supplementing. I am so excited about the results. It was not an easy road,” said Mncina, expressing his excitement.
He emphasised on how juggling being the SRC chairperson and being a student who will sit for an exam was not easy.

“My position as SRC Chairperson did not affect me. it was a bit strenuous but not impossible for me to make it. It was just a matter of balancing up and prioritising my role as the chairperson and student.
As much as I took my role in the university politics seriously, I also took my academic work very seriously because that is the main reason why I am in this campus,” the  SRC chairperson said.
Mncina has plans to completely focus on his studies this coming academic year as it is his last year.

“I am focusing all my energy in my studies this academic year as it is my completing year. I need no distractions,” said Mncina.
He was, however, concerned that some students did not get their practice allowance. “Last year was convenient when it comes to students receiving their allowances promptly.
“But it is saddening that some students did not get their practice allowances. I hope this issue is addressed pronto when the coming academic year commences,” said Mncina.
