LOBAMBA - Nothing can separate Swazis from their culture as witnessed yesterday when most people who attended the Little Incwala ceremony braved the heavy downpour that was accompanied by thunder and lightning.

When this publication arrived at Ludzidzini Royal Residence where the event began on Monday, warriors showed their enthusiasm to join His Majesty King Mswati III in dance on the second day of the Little Incwala.

They were properly dressed in their traditional attires, which included umdada, sigeja, kangas and emacakala. In an interview with some warriors, they said the rainfall was a true reflection of blessings.

They said under no circumstance shall the event be postponed. “This is the second day of the Little Incwala and nothing can change. You cannot postpone the date,” they said.

Army Commander Sobantu Dlamini was found in a jovial mood as he was doing the giya dance in the rain.
Also in atttendance were National Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula and Commissioner General of His Majesty’s Correctional Services Mzuthini Ntshangase.

Different songs were sang during the day and excitement was the order of the day.
