MBABANE – Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Sibusiso Shongwe has not attended the five-day retreat for Cabinet ministers held at Pigg’s Peak Hotel and Casino.

The retreat, that started on Monday and will end tomorrow, will look into 36 Bills which will be reviewed.
When sought for comment on the issue, Government Spokesperson Percy Simelane confirmed that the minister has not been part of the retreat, yet.

“The information I have is that he has not been part to the ongoing Cabinet retreat at Pigg’s Peak Hotel.
“However, we feel the Justice minister is better positioned to explain the absence and the arrangements he made to register it with the Cabinet chairman, which is the norm,” Simelane said.

When sought for comment, Minister Shongwe’s cellphone rang unanswered each time he was called. By time of compiling this report, he was still unreachable.
His principal secretary also could not be reached on his cellphone.
