THE BAD GOSPEL OF PROSPERITY

Sir,

With the advent of false or counterfeit Christianity intensifying, as prophesied by God that it would happen in these last days, true Christians please, be vigilant of the wiles and lies intensely perpetrated by unwitting human ministers of Satan.

These pretend to be ministers of light but are being used as pawns by the devil in his efforts to spite God.
People are no longer (except for a few sparsely spaced churches) taught about the main important mission God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to the world to proclaim.

A different Jesus is now being incessantly preached by many unscrupulous clergymen - a Jesus and a gospel of prosperity.
Paul in 2Corinthians 11:4, warned about this (New International Version): “For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough....”

People are being coerced with demon-inspired means to “accept Jesus as Lord and be saved - period.” They blindly follow Bible-thumping preachers (losing their hard-earned money in the process ngeminikelo), who shout at the top of their voices from the pulpit, without first “counting the cost” of following Jesus and adhering to His message (i.e., that of seeking the Kingdom of God). Satan, a master deceiver, blends a little of the truth with lies and millions of us fall line, hook and sinker for his ruses. Jesus, in numerous verses in the New Testament, clearly stated His main Mission on Earth: To proclaim and teach  “those who have an ear, to hear” about God’s soon coming Kingdom. He came to preach about the Gospel - (from Old English gōdspel  meaning good news ) - of the coming Kingdom of God on Earth..

Let’s look at a few verses from the mouth of Jesus himself about His mission on Earth and the importance of seeking God’s kingdom:
1. Isaiah 61:1 - “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound..” Christ’s mission was prophesied numerous times by the early prophets like Isaiah, in the Old Testament - the bringing of the Good News of God’s Kingdom.

2. Matt 6:33 - “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”Jesus emphasised the need to seek God’s Kingdom, not to seek riches, worldly pleasures and the satisfying of our material needs at the expense of doing God’s will.
3. Acts 28:31 - Preaching the Kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Persuading

4. Acts 19:8 - “And He went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the Kingdom of God.” Apostles like Paul, Peter etc., relentlessly continued with Christ’s mission of preaching the good news of the Kingdom of God.

5. Luke 13:28-29 - “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and you thrust out.” I believe this is an admonition to those who distort the Word of God and lead others astray, making them think that they can gain God’s favour ngeminikelo to the preachers, hoping this will open the way to God’s Kingdom.

6. Matthew 6:10 - “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.....” Christ taught His disciples to pray for the coming Kingdom of God because as Daniel clearly states in Daniel 2:44 “And in the days of these kings shall the God of Heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever”. This is the Kingdom Jesus preached about, which will last forever.

7. Matthew 24:14 “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Christ, knowing the importance of teaching people about the Gospel (good news) of God’s Kingdom, commissioned His disciples to earnestly teach about it in all corners of the world and put emphasis on this saying “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation....”
8. Luke 8:1 “And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and showing the glad tidings of the Kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him......” Jesus went the length and breadth of the country teaching, emphasising to people about the importance of seeking God’s kingdom.

9. Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven.” There you have it....we can rant and rave about “accepting” Jesus, being “born-again”, but if it is not done in truth and in spirit, and by not following the ways of the world, pleasing certain preachers, we will be shut out of the Kingdom because as He said in Mark 7:6 ”He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

Summarising: What are the dangers then of us not seeking God’s Kingdom? Professor Finney puts it succinctly clear in the website www.gospeltruth.net:
1. It is of supreme importance to us that we should attend to these spiritual things. The infinite well-being of the soul depends upon it.
2. The time is so short: and the fact that we know not how short it is, renders it indispensable that we should attend to it immediately. Life is so uncertain that we can place no dependence upon the prospect of doing another day what we put over from this. “Who knoweth what a day may bring forth?”

3. Another consideration: Every hour’s delay makes success more doubtful and your peril of damnation more portentous. Your heart will be more hardened, temptations will have gained more power, and a mightier struggle will be demanded if victory can be sure.
4. If you neglect but for one moment too long, it will be fatal. There is a moment beyond which, if you neglect seeking the Kingdom of God, you can never attend to it with success thereafter. If you wait beyond that point, no mercy remains; the door of Heaven is shut against you and your damnation is certain.”

That is the only and true message Jesus came to bring-the Kingdom message and just to support what has been narrated by my brother, when the Prophet Isaiah (9:7) prophesied about the coming of the messiah and what he came to bring he said "...and the government (kingdom of God) shall be upon his shoulders....and of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end".That is the gospel we as ministers of the word should be articulating emphatically.
