SA wants to see democracy in SD

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

South Africa wants to see democracy in Swaziland, first of all, they used their mouthwatering fat carrot of E2.4 billion bail out loan to catch us, like someone who used a snare to catch a rat, but fortunately or unfortunately we escaped unhurt, now they intend to use SACU  receipts to catch us, but I am not too sure if that could work or not. What if it doesn’t work?

I expect South Africa to use their economic muscle by imposing economic sanctions on us and I hope that could work since we depend on them for our survival e.g. we buy the following, food, goods and electricity to mention a few.

The attitude of South Africa is that they want to be surrounded by democratic countries so that there won’t be any need for them to intervene  militarily and they are also aware that we Swazis helped them in their struggle against apartheid, so, they want to say ‘thank you’ by helping us to restore a true democratic state, and both South Africa and the European Union, ought to speed up the democratic process in Swaziland.
