A short history of the Gama clan
Sir,
I will be pleased if you can publish my letter to the Times of Swaziland about the history of the Gama clan.
Gama originates around Carolina near Galina. He chased an animal called Eland (Impofu) until he reached Encabaneni.
He killed the Eland and skinned it; he gave some of the meat to a Maseko woman. Gama was given a place by the Maseko people.
Gama had a child called Maphalala, who khontaed at Ntondozi where he died.
Commanded
Mafu was the son of Maphalala and Njelu khontaed at Nhlambeni.
There is a dip-tank which is called Njelu, between Nhlambeni and Gundvwini, but I am not sure whether it was named after Njelu.
Nsukumbili was commanded by BakaNgwane to look after the Kings’ graves.
The following Kings and senior princess were buried at Dlangeni:

l Prince Makhosikhosi
l Prince Sikhova (Senzangakhona)
l Prince Logcogco
l Prince Sozisa
l Prince Mkhatjwa

Chief Ndabefihlwayo Gama married HRH Princess Tfombi Simangele; her son is Chief Nsukumbili II.
The Gama clan do not eat Eland (Impofu).
