Important chiefdoms needing chiefs

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

May you please publish my letter in The Times of Swaziland in relation to my last letter about the repla-cement of the dead chiefs.

Firstly, may I apologise for not putting a star adjacent to King Maja II to emphasise the importance of the umphakatsi. I also forgot to write the name of chief Madubula at Sigcinineni (KaKosikati).

Today’s topic is Chief Mlimi Mziya, of Ka-Langa; this is one of the biggest chiefdoms in Swaziland. If you read the biography of Swaziland written by Howe, Chief Jozane Maziya was an important chief. In fact there are about 10 enormous chiefdoms, they are as follows:

1.

Prince Mnikwa - KaHhelehhele

2.

Prince Malunga - Enyakeni

3.

Prince Maloyi - Ekutsimuleni

4.

Chief Mlimi - KaLanga

5.

Chief Ndlondlo - KuMalindza

6.

Prince Gansawangwane - Lavumisa

7.

King Maja II- Engudzeni

8.

Chief Mgodzi - Mashobeni (South)

9.

Chief Mathutha - Ekuvinjelweni

10.

Chief Mmemo - KaLanyandza

Chief Mlimi Maziya was elected as a member of the Liqoqo supreme council of state. Jozane Maziya allocated grazing lands for the King’s cattle at Impolonja. The cattle were reduced from empolonjeni in Mbabane because of chilly weather. That is why we have two Timpolonja, one in Mbabane and the other at Siteki. Jabhane Dvuba was indvuna of Inhlonhla. As time went on, Zembe Dvuba came to be in charge of Inhlonhla in Mbabane while Macebo Dvuba was in charge of that at Siteki. King Sobhuza II praised the late Chief Mlimi Maziya for building a holding cell (sitokisi) for suspects.

Please Bo-Mncanco, appoint a new chief. You are very important in the history of Swaziland.

God Bless You.

Ndumiso Mahleka Dlamini,

Kwaluseni
