Jesus was born around March/April
Sir,
May I help the people who are busy arguing over the Christmas celebrations by bringing what the Word of God says on this matter?
Thank you B.B Nkosi for the trouble you have taken to discuss this matter but you, as well don’t bring the Holy Bible clarity on the subject either.
Remember, faith comes only by hearing the Word of God (Rom10:17). Scholars have a tendency of skipping the Word and wasting time in arguing about differing views and researches instead of the authority of the Word of God. Here is the simple answer to your debate on when Jesus was really born. Luke2:26 gives us the way forward over the birth date issue of the Lord Jesus by the virgin Mary. God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth on the sixth month of the Jewish calendar. So we scientifically know the gestation period to be nine months. If we use the January to December calendar, we would start off on July as June would be the sixth month.
This counting will take us to March/April by any chance.
The angel even gave more emphasis on such dates by declaring that Elizabeth was six months pregnant when talking to Mary,(Luke2:36).
In closing, God did not bother to specify the exact date of Jesus’ birth because it is not so important for our salvation to confess it.
Some are more concerned about the 10 Commandments more about Jesus Christ now.
The Commandments have their own covenant in Exodus 24 and for the children of Israel which they swore to keep but failed(Jeremiah 31:31-32).
God put aside that covenant to establish a new covenant through Jesus Christ (Heb8:13,7:18-19 and Heb9:15).
People should do what the New Testament requires to be saved and enter legitimately into the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus (John1:12-13, 3:3-7 and Rom10:9-10).
