Where is Swaziland going?

Sir,

I am a fully fledged Swazi citizen who is liberally minded. Thank you Mr Editor for allowing us ‘voiceless Swazis’ to have a voice in your newspaper.

We really appreciate it, even if you cut out or remove the gist or crux of the matter, we understand because we live in a society that is almost similar to George Owell’s book Animal Farm hence you have to edit what we write for a number of professional reasons.

Mr Editor, I am greatly concerned about the future of our children and the society they are living in here in Swaziland. What future do they have if these anomalies happening laka gogo are not corrected?

Is there any trasnparency when appointing board members, directors, commissioners, CEOs and all other high profile jobs? Mr Editor I am asking this because;

Do we mean there was no other capable Swazi for the MTN CEO job? I don’t hate (have no personal problem against) Ambrose Dlamini, but I think he was good at Nedbank but there was still room for improvement at the bank.

May I congratulate the new SPTC boss. This is what we want as Swazis, every Swazi being given the opportunity to lead instead using old garbage from another failed institution. Good choice minister.

If we were to ask for a forensic audit of all heads of parastals, Board members etc; do you think we would have an empty report (no irregularities)? On the same regard, since we are very fond of wasting the taxpayers’ money on KPMG rather than capacitating the Anti Corruption Unit and the police force, I think it is imperative that a forensic audit of all those in power be done. Charity begins at home, the prime minister must be clean himself before he cleans out his colleagues.

Do we have a house of Parliament or a fattening ranch or a sissy politics kindergarten school.

Are these members of Parliament or partners in crime? I am asking this because most of them are driving flashy cars yet the constituencies where they were chosen are struggling to survive. Instead of focusing on helping their respective chiefdoms, they have focused on registering companies and are colluding with civil servants in the issuance of tenders.

I was perplexed when I read your newspaper reporting that Mr Hhukwini called for the disbanding of the Anti Corruption Unit. What has Mkhululi Dlamini done to ensure that the livelihoods of Swazi citizens in his Inkhundla are better than before he was elected? All we read about is beauty pageants which goes to show the calibre of the type of person he is. Mr Editor the youth are very productive, the Hlane MP has done something tangible. If we were to say Hhukwini is ‘young’. What does he know about corruption and its consequences?

Some MPs have been implicated in drug issues such as dagga. What is the prime minister saying? I think for him to say he is head of government and Parliament was tantamount to say he is equal to the king. But then nobody dared to correct him in his insinuations.

 Security

The very same MPs wanted the Anti Corruption Unit to be disbanded because they are starting to feel the pinch. I believe we as a country need to clearly start with Cabinet in investigating corruption. I say this because they are the ones perpetuating corruption. If you are the people’s leader why would you need security at the expense of the tax payer after you have vacated office? Why don’t you hire your own bodyguards because you have received a handsome retirement package?

The Anti Corruption Unit must stay put, we the citizens can see the difference.

The unit has taught us about corruption, sent messages on both print and visual media, came to our Tinkhundla and chiefdoms.

We now as Swazi’s know what the difference is between corruption, crime and theft. We have the Anti Corruption Units in countries like Zambia, Malawi, Botswana and South Africa to name a few. Federick Chiluba, Jackie Selebi etc; to name a few.

Mr Editor I am not a member of any political inclination, I love our Tinkhundla system of governance but the way Swaziland is being abused by this cronyism, favouritism and the people who advise the king, our country is going to the dogs. I wish the king could appoint Dunusa to be prime minister for the Swazi people to see the difference.

I plead with you Mr Editor to continue tirelessly to expose these anomalies and also try to find alternatives or solutions for the nation at large because surely, Swaziland is being sold to the people from the East who have now setup shops in rural areas.

Thank you

Dunusa
