MOB JUSTICE DOWNRIGHT BARBARIC

Mob justice is downright barbaric and shameful to be happening in this day and age.

When I thought about this issue I recalled that there have been many incidents of mob justice in this country but I had no recollection of vigilante groups being rounded up to face the full might of the law. I mean our courts need to send a strong message to people who do such. Otherwise atrocities like killing people through mob justice will never end.  Individuals are not afraid to met out mob justice on other people.

My point here is that if no punishment is meted out on perpetrators of this scourge, it will never end. And to achieve this, law enforcement agencies must investigate such matters and bring to book all the people involved and have them incarcerated to be tried and condemned. Similarly, incidents of people getting harmed at the hands of police officers, whether the police apologise for that or not, they must also be investigated thoroughly and offenders brought to book or made to face the full brunt of the law. When talking to a friend of mine about incidents of mob justice, I could not help but see how some people have a problem seeing the bigger picture. As he seemed hell-bent on supporting the mobs that commit heinous crimes, he still felt that people who are accused of wrongdoing needed to be punished.

What I said to him was that the people who do this could be lying to themselves or are motivated by other ulterior motives other than just what they are complaining about. I mean, if they are sure about their accusations, why do they not approach the rightful authorities to report a case or their grievances? However, something needs to be done in order for this to come to an end. We should not accept such behaviour in this day and age.
