SIMO SIYABHEDZA LAPHA NGEPHANDLE!

Sir,

Our government has no business acumen and it has proven that for the middle-working and low class, it has no heart and no sympathy. I wonder how people are going to survive the prices that will skyrocket yet salaries are stagnant, and this has been the case for a long while. How will emaSwati cushion the expenses that keep on rising with each passing day? Public transport operators have tabled a request to increase bus fares and electricity has become expensive for the ordinary liSwati.

Economy

If politicians really wanted to revive the economy, they should have cut their astronomical salaries and inflated allowances and stop building white elephants and put money in the pockets of the consumer who will keep many businesses and jobs afloat. I have seen how a business crumbles when consumers have no spending power, but our government, instead of hitting the snake right on the head, like cowards it targets the poor. Who will support small businesses when the consumer is forced to spend the little they have on food and electricity expenses? Our government may have great minds but the system shackles their creative juices and feeds their bellies so that their commonsense would be shrouded.

Ideas

They may have better ideas on how best they can pilot this ship but seemingly they cannot use those ideas. No wonder our nation has become an expert in begging for donations, even for things that could be produced in the country. Then they tell the world that we are a peace loving country, instead of telling them we are a country where a pint of milk will eventually cost more than our net pay. God come down and wash away our pain. See how your people are trodden mercilessly; see how lavishly they spend the little we have; see how corrupt, monopolistic, nepotistic and emetic they have become. See how your institution is silently watching your flock is flogged and through tithes they comfortably rub emaSwati’s deep wounds with salt. See how the marginalised are given dry and rotten bread while they hold onto fresh ones. See their greedy hearts, see their evil minds, see and feel the pain people are going through. Dear Lord, see how cheap love has become; we are now selling our souls to the devil for food. See how the little ones grow up spoiled and so materialistic.

Money

Money is not a root of evil but our livelihood. I wonder how they are going to minimise the high unemployment rate when the only investors they entice are those who are after cheap labourers and only bank their money in their houses. To survive we need the money; we need the ching, ching so we can go bling, bling too. No wonder many women have become materialistic like our lavish government; simo siyabhedza lapha ngephandle!
