MAKE ESWATINI BEAUTIFUL TO LIVE IN

Madam,

One of the most visibly missing qualities in today’s society is the respect for one another. To respect is to consider someone worthy of esteem and to regard them with honour. When we respect someone, we regard them as worthy of special consideration to the point of caring for them. Respect is also an attitude of admiration for an individual either because of their stature, or achievements in life. But also in the African context because they are simply older than you. One of the challenges of today’s generation is our inability to appreciate and show respect to our parents. We must show respect to our parents or those in various levels of authority.

When we learn to honor our parents and all places of authority in society, it will open up doors of promotion for us. Disrespect at any level is a downward motion. Those who walk in dishonour are actually sabotaging their own future. Walking in respect demands that we recognise and respect the rights and beliefs of others, without necessarily devaluing our own.
We need to act in a way that shows that we are aware of one another’s rights, wishes and feelings. It is important for each one of us to embrace the attitude of respect for one another. Respect begins at the point when we appreciate, consider and admire one another’s uniqueness. Respect demands that we stop speaking evil about each other; that we stop sabotaging one another and that we look at all man as equal in the sight of God.

Society

One of the curses of society today is the disrespect our men manifest when they kill a woman, rape a girl child or abuse their position of authority by demanding sex in exchange for promotion or employment. That is dishonouring and devaluing our women. The world that God created is a beautiful place to live in, but humanity has ruined it through disrespect.
Showing respect to other people is key to maintaining important personal and professional relationships. Appreciating and learning to respect other people’s efforts and abilities will make us successful in our interpersonal relationships while respecting ourselves can help us build self-confidence and cause others to respect us. We can show respect to others by embracing the attitude of gratitude.
