A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

Sir,

Yes you read the headline right, COVID-19 is a blessing in disguise for to me and probably to most of you. I have been very grumpy with this whole situation we are currently faced with for taking longer than most of us expected; but that was before I realised it was actually a blessing in disguise. Like Jesus, who disguised himself with unrecognizable clothing when he visited the woman who turned him back because she thought He would come dressed like a businessman; this virus certainly did the same thing to us. The coronavirus pandemic has presented us with an opportunity to work on so many aspects in our lives, and the world at large.

Helped

Personally speaking, COVID-19 has helped me realise how toxic I had become to myself and other people, how much I need to work on my insecurities, how much I had to learn to trust people, how much I needed to forgive myself for the wrong things I did long ago which I still blamed myself for. It opened my eyes to how much I had to forgive the people who did me wrong, it made me realise how much I had to let go of all the grudges I had.

Reasons

This pandemic has been a blessing in disguise to the world as well for many reasons. It has afforded First World and developing countries with an opportunity to work together on finding a solution of how we can deal with the situation that has taken so many of our loved ones. Different leaders who speak different languages have come together and spoke the same language, which is finding a way to keep people safe from COVID-19. Who would have thought rival countries would put their differences aside for the betterment of their people? The world and its leaders have seen how precise the book of Ecclesiastes is when it says everything we do is useless like chasing the wind. The world has to realise that there is only one thing that can’t be put on hold, and that is God being the saviour of our lives. He can’t be put on hold as He is above everything in this world. We have to realise that if our lives are not aligned with the way God wants them to be but now is the chance to fix your ways.
