WALK THE TALK PRINCESS SIKHANYISO

Sir,

Wena wekunene, warm greetings are extended to you from Khokhumncadvo, Senior Prince of eButsini Royalty. I wish you long life and good health your Royal Highness.

If my aging mental faculties are anything to go by, I recall how you were very articulate with words and as such you were the people’s favourite during the Sibaya-people’s Parliament.
You suggested that harsh decisions should be taken by the relevant stakeholders in the event corrupt activities were discovered to have been committed. I just hope your submissions were real and not a way of gaining popularity from the suffering majority.

corruption

Judging from the feared and privileged background that you come from, I really think that you have nothing to lose at the end of the day by saying anything, because no one would dare take you to task and no one would dare question your assertions.
Today your Royal Highness, it is almost a year since you assumed office and needless to say that the ugly head of corruption is still rife and awarded.
Your Royal Highness, you were very elusive when answering some questions which were posed to you, and understandably so.
First of all, you have legislators working right with you on a daily basis, who are alleged to have committed heinous corrupt activities and went to the extent of even bribing and buying seats in Parliament. How many heads have rolled so far?
Nothing and obviously nothing will be done even then. Since you are privileged to throw your weight around, save for the humble nature that you have, how possible is it that you can order the sleeping ACC to action these corrupt activities that were done by your colleagues?

commitment

Or is it because corruption is a norm in Eswatini, its business as usual? We have one person who is called a prince who allegedly raped a UNESWA student and it is now over a year and no one is coming out to answer for his crime. Is this not corruption?
Or is corruption only directed to the poor of this country? The rich and powerful are immune?
It’s just that you showed hatred for corruption to an extent that you even said if I were to quote you verbatim: “Even if its me who commits corruption, I have to be arrested.”
But that was just a statement because you will never ever see the inside of Mawelawela.

But your talking about corruption somehow makes me feel you don’t like it at all, and that is the reason for my article today.
Secondly we have an enquiry into the Sicunusa-Gege-Nhlangano road project, which has been abandoned mysteriously at the expense of taxpayers; here we are taken for a ride, as we are talking of over E 0.5 Billion squandered and there are people who are being protected at the expense of corruption.
Let us take a case of our population which is about 1.3 million. If we remove the 20 per cent of the rich people who are controlling the wealth of this country, it means 80 per cent of the poor would benefit from the E0.5 billion.

eradication

That would truly benefit the majority of emaSwati, but now as we are talking, this money is in corrupt people’s bank accounts.
So your Royal Highness, as you can see how much the levels of corruption have gone up, I guess the levels of corruption are almost knocking on Heaven’s door and God does not want that.

Your Royal Highness, with all due respect, the country is looking up to you for a fast solution because it appears as if you are on the people’s side not unless you were pulling wool over our faces. But I doubt that you would do that especially given the good heart that you have.

It remains to be seen how and when corruption will be attended to in this country. And it remains to be seen as to who is interested in eradicating it, because as I mentioned earlier on that we have legislators who are working with you but nothing was done to them.

I know it for a fact, that one would say it was not officially reported, so does it mean if something has not been reported we should turn a blind eye on it?
On Parting shot your Royal Highness, please bear it in mind that our hope rests with you because we have seen how corruption has triumphed in this kingdom.

You have to be seen assisting your aunt, Pholile Shakantu, otherwise corruption will just be a song that is sung but not danced to. God bless you wena wekunene.
