ASIANS DWELLING IN ESWATINI

Sir,

It was extremely disturbing to read the comments about Asians in Eswatini in your publicarion dated April 9, 2019 on page 12, which in my opinion had no valid reason. Amazingly in the next page I encountered a highlight showing donations contributed by Asians. Here I would like to share a bit of something that we, Pakistanis dwelling in Eswatini are very neutral.

I started doing businesses in the UAE and have travelled to many Arab and African countries. I have also spent some time in European countries, which include Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Spain.

The Western and Arab societies are completely different compared to the Eswatini nation.
I would like to stay in this country because I feel totally comfortable here. No one can possibly deny that emaSwati are very friendly and live like a family.

Enjoy

Even we, Asians, enjoy this atmosphere and we do not intend to ever have any conflict with the people of this country, and we don’t feel mundane while staying here.

Respectful

EmaSwati are also very civilised, courteous and respectful. Another distinct quality of emaSwati is that they will not hate you because of your culture, religion, colour and language. But in a majority of countries in the world you will encounter racism on a daily basis and this has remained to be my personal observation. There are good and bad people everywhere, so people should not say that all Asians are not good.

If anybody is found to have committed a crime then the law enforcement agencies should deal with such a person according to the laws of the land, no matter their nationality or where they come from. Basically what I am trying to say is that Asians are not a threat to the Eswatini nation because we are all living like a family. There lies no difference between us.
