BEWARE OF MIRACLE DECEPTIONS

Sir,

In Revelation 16:13,14 under the sixth plague, which is still the future, shortly before the return of Christ, we are presented with the following words from inspiration; “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”

Notice that in the end times there is going to be a worldwide deception from the evil one. Many miracles will be done and the aforementioned text clearly shows us that these miracles will be done by devils, that is, demons or fallen angels. This shows that satan and his angels have power to also perform miracles.

False prophets

Christ foretold; “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before,” Matthew 24: 24-25. Satan will use men to deceive fellow men and this he will do via ‘great signs and wonders’ and also unsound doctrines. In this he will raise false prophets, counterfeit prophets. Outside they will look exactly like God’s prophets yet they are false.

The question we need to ask is, where will these counterfeit prophets and teachers come from? The Bible is explicit; “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,” 2 Peter 2: 2. These individuals will arise from among the professed Christians ‘and through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you’.

Make money

In other words, these false prophets will deceive their followers and make money out of these poor Christians.
Deception will play a very big role in these last days, for the ‘devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time,’ Rev 12:12. Thank God because the Jesus warned us beforehand to; “Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Christ also said; “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity,” Mat 7: 21-23. What a tragedy!

These individuals call Jesus ‘Lord, Lord’, which shows that they are professed Christians, and notice that Christ says ‘many of them’, not few. And these working-miracle individuals say they did the miracles by Christ’s name, which also indicates that they come to the people as though they are followers of Christ but Christ will tell them ‘I never knew you’. Which means the power behind the miracles done by them was not from God but from satan.

There are only two powers in this universe, God Almighty and satan. So we need not just follow because ‘so and so works miracles in the name of Jesus’. “But there was a certain man called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying this man is the great power of God,” Acts 8: 9, 10. Fellow readers, let us not be deceived by these modern day Simons.
